How We Picked the Products
Like other sex toys, the material was essential when selecting the test samples for this review. Silicone is the preferred sex toy material, so I paid more attention to silicone-made products. TPE is another affordable alternative, with the only ‘undesirable’ trait being tedious cleaning from the porous nature.
Once I compiled the list, I called upon my colleagues at My Sex Toy Guide for a self-testing exercise. I also defined test criteria that we could measure on a scale from 0 to 100:
- Design. A good product should be designed to meet the specific user’s sexual desires. Whether it’s straightforward penis-in-vagina stimulation or precise G-spot and prostate stimulation, the design is critical to the overall experience. I recommended that the reviewers treat each dildo uniquely and test its capabilities based on the structural design – length, girth, firmness, and texture.
- Settings. Like other sex toys, some models feature vibration and thrusting capabilities that add a new dimension of pleasure to play. While ‘multiple’ settings are always a plus, we paid special attention to models with more vibration or thrusting settings because they’d be ideally suited for most users, new and experienced.

During testing, we rated each test criterion on a percentage scale from 0% (Worst) to 100% (Best). We then calculated the overall score using different weighted metrics depending on the importance of the test criteria. Half the total rating comes from Stimulations (25%) and Design (25%). After that comes Realism (10%), Build Quality (10%), and Price & Value (10%).
Later, after about 25 days, the team returned with the findings, leaving me with the analyzing task. Luckily, I had a team of researchers ready with important data on customer reviews from major vendors and user accounts from sex toys forums.
